There are moments in history that leave such vivid images in our memory. Moments that we will never be able to forget. Moments that we will be able to relive in our minds forever.
My Ma could tell you where she was when Pearl Harbor was attacked. My parents tell me about what they were doing when JFK was assassinated. I can still remember what I was wearing on September 11, 2001. And I will always remember what I was doing when the verdict was read in the Casey Anthony trial...
At 2:15pm on July 5, 2011, I was feeding my precious daughter. When the verdict was read, I looked in Sweet Petite's beautiful blue eyes and promised her (for like the thousandth time) that I would always protect her, always love her, and always keep her best interests at heart.
I believe that an injustice was done to Caylee Anthony today. I believe that questions will never be answered. I believe there are heinous crimes that I will never understand. I believe that Caylee Anthony walks with Jesus.
But I also know, and I mean K-N-O-W, beyond any doubt, that my God is the ultimate Judge and Jury. 2 Corinthians 5:10 says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."
Everyone will bow before God and give account for their sins. Thankfully, I am sinner saved by grace. So while I am bowing before my Father and giving account for my sins, I know that I will still walk with Him on the streets of gold for eternity. I can only pray that Casey Anthony will walk those same streets of gold.
Regardless of the various opinions about the verdict and despite the emotions surrounding this story that has topped the headlines for three years, the best any of us can do is pray that Casey Anthony knows Christ as her personal Savior.
Who will join me in this prayer for Casey?
